CENTRAL COAST ACADEMY OF SPORT
The Academy co-ordinates athlete development programs for junior athletes in our region, sparing them the need to travel to either Sydney or Newcastle for top-level coaching. As a founding partner of the Academy, we are keen to see it have a secure future so that it can achieve results for Central Coast athletes in a variety of sports.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Community groups on the Central Coast have benefited from Mingara’s continuing support of local projects in the areas of education, Skin Cancer Safety, Community & Welfare issues, Seniors Health and the education. This year, Mingara provided significant support for 22 groups including Surf Life Saving Central Coast, Yarran Early Intervention Services, Central Coast Kids In Need, Coastal Shelter, Fairhaven Services, Lioness Club of East Gosford, Central Coast MS Branch, Alzheimer’s Australia & Nation Seniors Australia.
In the financial year ended 30 June 2009, Mingara actively supported over many groups in the local community via cash and/or in-kind funding of projects worth over $515,000. We believe that funding of these projects contributes to the social and economic fabric of our region and will ensure the Central Coast will continue to thrive as a dynamic regional centre.
