Mingara One – Aquatics… It’s time to dive in!

UPDATED | 25 October 2021

It’s been a long winter for us all and we’re pleased to finally let you know Mingara One Squads will come out of hibernation on Monday 11 October and our Learn to Swim classes will return on Monday 25 October.

As a valued Squad member of Mingara, we can confirm training will recommence for you this Monday. YES! It’s EXCITING! We know how much our squaddies have missed getting in the water. As with everything right now, there’s some important things you need to know and we’ll outline these for you below:

Your early mornings for Squad Training are back!

Set the alarm and make a bucket of coffee…it’s on, our Squad Training Timetable returns on Monday 11 October! It’s time to get our awesome swimmers back into drills and sets. Before they know it their speed and endurance in the water will return and they’ll be back to form.

Squad swimmers will return to their same level

All our Squad swimmers will return to their same level and training time as before lockdown. To refresh your memory, you can view our Squad Training Timetable. If you’re still unsure of your time or level, please let us know and we will confirm for you. We can be reached on 4349 7821 or on email at [email protected]

Learn to swim is back!

The kids will be so excited to get back to their Learn To Swim lessons from Monday 25 October. We’re pretty sure we’ve missed them as much as they’ve missed being in the water each week. Their lessons will return on the same day and time as before lockdown. If you’re unsure of your time, we’re here to help. Please call us on 4349 7821.

Free swimming assessments for existing Learn to Swim kids and new enrolments.

We understand some kids might be a little unsure about coming back to swimming and it’s been over 3 months, so we want to support them in returning to a positive experience. To help, we’re inviting our Learn to Swim kids and new enrolments to book in for a FREE swimming assessment from Monday 18 October. It’s a gentle way to dip their toes back in and we can help them feel ready to get back into the swing of their weekly lessons.

To book, please call us on 4349 7821 or email [email protected]

Membership Payments.

With the return of Squad Training and Learn to Swim, membership payments will recommence in the coming weeks. To ensure you’re prepared, the payment schedule is outlined below:

Squad Members – Opening Monday 11 October
Payments commence on Friday 29 October

Learn to Swim – Opening Monday 25 October

Options are important

In such uncertain times we understand that some of our members may prefer to wait a little longer to return to Squad Training on Monday 11 October or Learn to Swim from Monday 25 October. It’s okay, we understand and we’ve got you covered.

If you’d like to make any changes to your membership including placing a time stop on your membership and fees, it’s easy, please complete this form on our website and a member of the crew will be in contact with you.

Please let us know by Monday 25 October to ensure we have it sorted for you!

We’ll be open from 5am – 8pm from Monday 25 October.
Lap swimming lanes will be open for casual users of the pool. Please limit your lap swimming sessions to 60 minutes and our top tip is the best time slots will be 8am – 3pm when the most number of lanes will be available. As always our Lifeguard Team will be on hand to ensure the safety of our swimmers and lap speed lane markers will be in place to ensure you have a great experience.

Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation

We know many people have been waiting to get back into our hydrotherapy pool for gentle rehabilitation. The wait is finally over and we can help get you moving again. Our warm Hydrotherapy Pool will be open for public use and rehabilitation patients from Monday 18 October.

Numbers will be limited in line with Public Health Orders, so please check with our Reception Team upon arrival or call us on 4349 7821 before your visit to check on capacity.

Group Aqua Fitness and Swim Squad Classes

It’s time to get your friends back together to enjoy our very popular Group Aqua Fitness and Swim Squad sessions. These classes will recommence from Monday 25 October. Numbers will be limited to 20 per class to keep everyone safe. Full timetable available on Mingara One Fitness website.

GREAT. SAFE. COMMUNITY.

Keeping each other safe

Mingara One will operate under the current NSW Public Health guidelines and the NSW Government’s Roadmap For Opening. There are a few things we need your help with to keep everyone safe at the pool.

Double Vaccination Required

In line with the current NSW Public Health Orders, we need everyone to check in via the Service NSW app at the entry to the pool. As well as this, anyone 16 and over will need proof of double vaccination upon entry to the aquatics area. Swimmers under 16, regardless of their vaccination status, must be accompanied by a double vaccinated parent/carer (over 18) who is required to stay in the pool area for the duration of the Squad Training or Learn to Swim session. We envisage this is a short-term measure outlined in the NSW Government’s Roadmap For Reopening and will advise everyone when this requirement changes.

Face Masks

It goes without saying anyone in the water doesn’t need to wear a face mask while they are training. However, anyone on pool deck, spectators, parents/carers or anyone over the age of 12 will need to wear a face mask if they are not in the water.

It will be great to see you!

We are welcoming our members back to the pool with open arms. We have missed you all. We hope you can appreciate our staged opening plan in line with NSW Health Orders will see us back in full operation including public swimming lap swimming, Aqua fitness classes, adult squad and hydrotherapy from Monday 25 October.

For those looking to use our indoor aquatics centre for leisure swimming, we hope to provide further updates as the Public Health Orders change.

It’s going to be GREAT to get back in the water! See you soon. Don’t hesitate to ask – we’re here for you
