KATIPŌ – NEW ZEALAND PILSNER
From inner-west brewery Grifter, and named after New Zealand’s only venomous spider – this a new-world lager really has some bite!
Crawling with hops straight from the land of the long white cloud, the rare Riwaka hops have a distinct punch; it’s the most expensive one Grifter have ever used due to its scarcity, have a distinct passionfruit flavour. Meanwhile, Nelson Sauvin hops, so called for their Sauvignon Blanc flavours like gooseberry and passionfruit, bring a complexity akin to a good glass of Aeteora white.
Together, these heavy-hitters front a uniquely sharp pilsner with a firm bitterness and all the crispness you’d expect, plus tropical notes, citrus and spice to boot.
