We look forward to seeing you and your guests on Sunday 22 December for a great night of carols, entertainment and fireworks as we share the joy of Christmas at our sold out Christmas Under The Stars event.
Fun for the whole family featuring Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street Christmas Show and Christine Anu along with Gina Jeffreys, Erica Davis, Bryce Sainty, Elaskia, Shane Edwards and other great local artists. Plus a special guest appearance from the big man himself… Santa!
To ensure it’s a great night, here’s all the important information you need to know:
Tickets
Please have your tickets ready on arrival, we’d be happy to scan these from your mobile device or from a printed ticket. If you can’t locate your tickets, please double check your junk folder and then reach out to our ticketing agent Ticketebo on support@ticketebo.com.au and they will re-issue your tickets for you. Please note, this event has reached capacity and is sold out. There will be no more tickets sold at the gate or online.
Times
Gates open from 4:30pm, Entertainment from 5:30pm, Get ready to sing and dance with Sesame Street featuring Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby from 6pm, Santa’s arrival from 7:30pm, Fireworks approx. 9:15pm.
Parking
We will have free car parking available in Mingara’s main carpark, as well as the carpark at the Athletics Centre. However, with a crowd of 8,000 expected, parking will be limited. We recommend carpooling or getting dropped off at the event where possible. There will be a road closure for a short duration during the fireworks which includes pedestrian access.
What if it’s raining?
Christmas Under The Stars will go ahead if it is raining. If the weather is severe, please keep an eye on our Facebook page on the day of the event for the most up-to-date information. This is an outdoor event. All tickets are non-refundable.
Can I bring my pram?
Yes, you can. We have a separate pram entry just next to the main entry of the event near the track kiosk. This is a glass-free event, so please check your baby food jars and transfer to plastic containers before the event. We have great entertainment for the kids, so no need to bring balls or other sporting equipment.
Can I bring food?
You are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. We also have a great kiosk selling amazing snacks such as sushi, rice paper rolls and salads as well as food trucks for you to purchase food and drink. Remember, no glass (check those salsa jars!), no alcohol and no cheese knifes or any other sharp knifes. Bags and eskys will be checked upon entry. Food trucks include Gluten Free Donuts, Happy Dumplings, The German Grill Haus, Turkish Gozleme, Chip on a Stick, Ice Creams and Coffee.
Can I bring my dog?
Animals are not allowed at Christmas Under The Stars.
What can I bring to sit on?
This is an outdoor event held on grass. You are welcome to bring a folding/camping chair and picnic blanket. Please no tents, gazebos or large beach umbrellas. Handheld umbrellas are ok. Ponchos are the best option in case of a little rain.
Auslan Interpreter
Mingara’s Christmas Under The Stars is an inclusive event and will have an Auslan interpreter for the show. There will be an allocated seating area for anyone requiring access to the interpreter. Ask one of our friendly team members upon entry for directions.
Can my teenage children attend without me?
Minors have to be with someone of parental age at all times. Under 18s can not go in or out of the venue without a parent.
Will you be selling glowsticks?
They won’t be for sale, but feel free to bring your own from home. No lasers or open flames. Our media partner, Star 104.5 will have light-up fairy floss for sale.
Will I have the best night ever?
YES! Christmas Under The Stars is one of our favourite days of the year. It’s a great night of Christmas carols and family fun!
