Mingara’s Community Hero 2018

By Binns Rebecca

Mingara’s Community Hero Award

Mingara proudly strives to make a significant contribution to the quality of our local community life. At the recent Mingara Community Dinner 2018, we took time out to present our first ever Community Hero Award to a gentleman who works tirelessly to support a number of charitable organisations on the Central Coast and has done so for many years.

Meet Warren Price

His work has included getting the support to fit out 14 Men Sheds, raising over $300,000 for Lions Clubs on the Central Coast, assisting with building a playground for children with a disability and has helped write applications for funding for many of our local community groups. Over the years he has helped submit over 160 applications, 130 of those were successful and helped provide 2.4 Million dollars in funding for our local groups.

” When I first moved to the Coast 18 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting this gentleman, he struck me straight away as someone who was exceptionally caring and always willing to help anyone in need. His commitment to helping others has spanned over 20 years, and he would give you his last $5 if he thought you needed it more,” said Mingara’s Sports and Community Manager, Sarah Ferman.

Warren works tirelessly and selflessly. He is constantly helping people to find a roof over their head when they have nowhere else to go and seeks out opportunities to help others better themselves or raise funding.

Unstoppable

After suffering a recent stroke, Warren continued to wheel and deal from his hospital bed – even more determined to get himself back up and helping his community. The Stroke has made this wonderful, charitable man even more determined.

Commitment

There is no questioning Warren’s commitment to our local community. The Mingara Community Hero award is to acknowledge Warren’s amazing commitment and dedication to our local community. If he ever asks for something it is never for himself, it is always for someone else, someone else who truly needs it.

Thank you and congratulations Warren.
