Take a look at our community facility

Did you know?

  • The athletics track was constructed and opened in late 2000.
  • Countless school children, athletes and visitors have used the facility.
  • Every year 60+ schools hold their athletics carnival at our track, representing over 30,000 local school children.
  • Mingara has funded the ongoing operations of the track costing more than $200,000 per annum to operate and maintain.

Why does the track need repair?

The synthetic track itself has a life expectancy of around 10-12 years and because we have worked really hard to keep it in pristine condition, we have managed to extend the tracks life for 18 years.
However, in recent years it has become increasingly apparent that it is time for refurbishing. There are very few companies able to replace the track surface and the estimated cost is in excess of $600,000.

Why do we need your support?

Mingara has approached various levels of government for financial support to replace the track surface. It is widely seen as a great community facility and deserving of government support. Below is a link to a survey, created by the State Member for Terrigal, Adam Crouch. If we can gather enough support from the Central Coast community, we hope to be able to obtain financial support from the State Government to undertake this worthwhile project.
