ABOUT THE COMEDIANS

Claire Hooper

Currently weekly on TV with her own show – ‘House of Games’ and winner of the ‘Piece of Wood’, at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2024, Claire Hooper  had a busy first few years in comedy, as a Raw Comedy national finalist in 2004, a coveted spot on the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Comedy Zone in 2005, and a Best Newcomer Nomination in 2006.

For four years, Claire shared a set with Paul McDermott and Mikey Robbins on the iconic comedy show ‘ Good News Week,’ as a team captain. Claire hosted 5 seasons of ‘The Great Australian Bake Off’  for Foxtel’s LifeStyle Channel alongside the seriously funny Mel Buttle, and has been seen on Channel Ten’s ‘ The Project’, ABC’s ‘The Weekly’, ‘Question Everything’ and ‘Spicks & Specks’, as well as SBS’s ‘Celebrity Letters & Numbers’ and Channel Ten’s ‘Would I Lie To You?’

Lizzy Hoo

Lizzy Hoo – Host of the 2024 Melbourne comedy festival gala and hailing from Brisbane, Sydney based Lizzy Hoo is made from ‘local and imported ingredients’, A regular on the Australian comedy circuit, Lizzy made the NSW Raw State Finals in 2017 and a year later was invited to perform at ‘Just For Laughs Sydney’ at the Opera House, which  was later aired on Foxtel’s ‘Comedy Central’.

In 2019, Lizzy performed her first solo show ‘Hoo am I? What’s my name?’ to sold out audiences at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival where she performed two encore show due to overwhelming demand.

Described by many as the toughest woman in comedy, Julia Wilson doesn’t just take the stage — she owns it.
