Lizzy Hoo
Host of the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, Lizzy Hoo is one of Australia’s most exciting comedy voices. Hailing from Brisbane and now based in Sydney, Lizzy is a regular on the national comedy circuit.
She reached the NSW RAW Comedy State Finals in 2017 and was invited to perform at Just For Laughs Sydney at the Sydney Opera House, later airing on Foxtel’s Comedy Central. In 2019, Lizzy debuted her first solo show Hoo Am I? What’s My Name? to sold-out audiences at both the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival, returning for two encore shows due to overwhelming demand.
Becky Lucas
Becky Lucas is a writer and stand-up comedian who exploded onto the comedy scene at the 2013 National RAW Comedy Finals and hasn’t slowed down since. She has performed sold-out solo shows across Australia and New Zealand, debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and performed live at the Sydney Opera House as part of Just For Laughs Sydney.
Her 2019 show Um, Support Me?! was a standout success, culminating in performances alongside some of the biggest names in comedy at Just For Laughs Montreal.
